Christopher Peter Meloni (born Christopher Peter Meloni) is an American Actor, best known as a star of the well-known television series Law & Order Special Victims Unit. He discovered his love for acting from his days in the college classroom and then studied acting in the University of Colorado at Boulder. Though he has been active in both films and television, it is his characters in the smaller screen which brought him fame and a large fans. The ability of his characters to appear on both sides of law is a draw for the public. In his very first TV project, he played a serial murderer. Then, he played the character of an NYPD detective. The small screen performances of his were rewarded with numerous Emmy Awards nominations and PRISM Awards. Eyes that are piercing blue on his eyes are thought to be his most attractive aspect of his appearance. They have been utilized to portray rough characters as well as give them a sense of humour. People's magazine listed him as one of the Sexiest Men Alive for 2006.
